Chapter 1

 Obscure Picture

The scorching sun gives off a heat that is so unbearable that you wouldn’t even want to step out of the university. Jeannie, walking outside the university, noticed everything around her slowly begins to look bright red. Was it her eyes playing tricks on her? Rubbing her eyes hard, she thought to herself that she must be tired and it really was a hot day after all. Was she hallucinating from the heat? She opened her eyes but the colour red was brightly burn to her eyes. She looked up towards the sun thinking was it an eclipse? No, the sun was still there, only it glows with the colour red like a blood moon that appears in vampire novels.

Jeannie, frightened by the situation, quickly headed for Stephanie, to check on her. She quickly went on the elevator and pressed the fifth floor button. In the middle of way the lift stopped moving up. Nor did it open its doors… She then pressed the emergency call button.”Hello? Security? I’m stuck in the lift. The door won’t open. Could you please open the door for me?”

Instead of a reply that she thought of-… well… you could say… there wasn’t any reply at all.

She tried several times asking the security on duty in the surveillance room to help her open the door or to come to the lift and help her opened it. No one replied again and again. Not a single voice could assure her of safety.

On the other line of the surveillance room, blood was all around the room. Writings, drawings, scratches were all etched on the wall. The security that was on duty, had his body stabbed onto the walls. His body was full of words that were etched onto his skin. A creature… no… a sword monster, was in the university. This sword monster, with a normal man’s body and long black hair, didn’t had any hands. Instead, it had his limbs replace with swords. Stitches were all covered around his body. Like a fresh wound that just been closed. Wearing just a coat and long black pants with boots. He heard the cry of help from Jeannie from the speakers, it walk towards the screen moniter and saw her. His eyes look kind as it was enchanted by another being that look different from him. A female… it went off the room to look for her.

In the lift, no one answered in the end. Jeannie panicked, “HELP! HELP! IS ANYONE THERE! I’M STUCK IN THE LIFT! CAN ANYONE HEAR ME!! PLEASE!!I’M TRAPPED!! HHEEELLPP!!!”  she desperately shout even though she was already breaking down in tears. She thinks to herself asking why is this happening… what is going on? Was she going to die in here? In this dead lift? When she was just a few floors away from Stephanie.

She continues to shout for help hoping that anyone or anybody could hear her desperate cry of help. She even hoped and prayed that Stephanie would come by to the elevator to break her out. Alas, no one was there. Why would they be? Everyone would be at their dorm resting or doing their assignments.

Feeling scared, vulnerable, helpless… she cried even more. She wants to give up. She felt that there is nothing she can do but cry. She sobs and wept. Wondering was fate always this unfair to her. She begins to doubt her survival.  Then she starts to feel claustrophobic. She couldn’t breathe or perhaps her body wouldn’t let her breathe. Its like her own body wants kill itself. Chocking, coughing and gasping for air desperately. She passed out after that. Her tiny body couldn’t support her panic body reaction.

The light in the art studio room begins to flicker.  Stephanie felt a slight shake under her feet. Is there an earthquake going on? Immediately, she acted according to her guts and went for the door. By the time she touched the handle, parts of heavy blocks from the outside ceiling came tumbling down blocking her only escape.

She begins to panic... she looked around and saw the window. Her only escape out of this death trap room.  She grabs the chair and threw it at the window. Broken glass were everywhere on the floor but it didn’t stop her on trying to escape through the window. She tried to act quickly so she walks hastily towards the windows. However, just as soon she was about to make her escape,  parts of the ceiling wall landed on her head knocking her into unconscious state… shards of broken glass had pierce her arm but she didn’t manage to feel it as she was there passed out. There was nothing she can do. There, she lay, bleeding.

As for Jon, in the computer room, the computer that he was using begins to emit static sound “oh great... What did I touch?! Crap… I hope I didn’t spoil it. I AIN’T PAYING FOR IT!!” Jon thought to himself.

As soon as he tried to leave his seat to fix the problem, the screen turns static as well. “NOW WHAT??” he shouted, irritated by the problem.

He suddenly stopped and stared at the screen. Something is in there. He went nearer to the screen and starts to squint his tiny eyes to see the image better. But it was too blur and too full of static to be seen. A faint breathing was then heard through the speakers. Creeped  out, he switch off the speakers. But the breathing sound didn’t stop, instead of getting softer, it got louder and louder. Jon startled by it, moves back.

A sharp piercing screams was then emitted from the speakers, it was so painful, and Jon’s ears begins to bleed. Using both hands, he shut his ears as much as possible to soften the sound of the screeching scream but the sound was too loud that closing his ears is only delaying him death from the sound. He grabbed the chair and starts smashing the computer. The sound finally died out. He quickly grabbed his bag and head out of the room. He feels fatigue from the sound and begins to walk like a drunken man. Refusing to fall unconscious, he drags himself using the walls as a support with his bloody hands.

Outside the room, the walls was covered with blood as if someone had been hacked. Little does he know, what sort of tragedy awaits him…

Prologue

Hot summer days going by in Kensington British University. Students from the university had already gone back to their own dorms as soon as the day was over. Well… most of them.  Sitting in a bright lit art studio, Stephanie and Jeannie from the Design Department were still there finishing up their designs to be finalized. Jeannie, with one hand grabbing her hair, gave out a frustration moan of stress.

“Ahhh!! I can’t take it anymore. I’m so tired and I can’t think of any more ideas!” complained Jeannie.

“You’re always tired! Didn’t you get enough rest?” Stephanie yelled back in irritation of Jeannie’s moaning.

“ I did! I just want to go back and sleep.” replied Jeannie.

Jeannie packed her stuffed and head out of the studio, leaving Stephanie behind to lock up the door. However, those two aren’t the only students left in the University.

Jonathan, or Jon for short, from the same department and class as the other two students, was alone in the computer room. As part of the student council committee, he was given the job to come up with the proposal for the upcoming prom event even though he has his hands full with his other assignments.

Yes, everything was normal for them. Get busy, finish the assignments, and go back to their dorm. Repeating it every day without a care in the world of what is abnormality. But the word normal for them is soon about to come to an end.

P.S : sorry that the prologue is very short. i just want to get on with the story~! yea, I'm adding images just for fun and to get the idea cause I probably won't be able to explain it very well in the story. enjoy reading~! :p
